I absolutely LOVE this picture of Shane. Doesn't he look excited?
And of course the side view, I am gonna miss these days :(
This news pretty much consumed our summer. We are very excited to have a baby, despite Shane's facial expressions! I am now 16 weeks along and have been feeling great. Other than losing my appetite and being very tired in the first trimester it has been smooth sailing. I have been really lucky! We get to find out if it's a boy or girl at my next Dr.'s appointment on October 8th. We can't wait!
In other news, school started for Shane last week. It is his last year at BYU, crazy! I have been helping him with secondary applications and he has been writing loads of essays. If any of you know Shane you know that he would rather be stabbed in the eye with a fork than write 10 essays for these secondaries. So to help him out I have done the other parts of his secondaries for him so all he has to focus on are the essays. As for me, I am still working at a physical therapy clinic in Lindon. It's okay but I am starting to miss going to BYU. When Shane went up to campus on the first day of school I wished I was going with him. Oh well, life goes on right?
Our trip to St. George was fantastic! Last minute we decided just the two of us should go on one last vacation before school starts and before we have a baby. That meant the coming weekend! Shane booked us a hotel in St. George and we planned to hike Angel's Landing at Zion National Park. We had so much fun! Staying in the hotel was fun too. It was a lot nicer than we thought it would be. We went swimming, watched a movie, went out to dinner at Olive Garden, hiked Angel's Landing and Weeping Rock, went to the gas station for some late night slushies and nachos, it was a BLAST! It was great to spend some time away with Shane before things got crazy again. I'm really glad we did it! Here are some pictures!
On the way up.
Us at the top. 5 mile hike, 2,000 ft ascent, 3 hours long, 14 months pregnant. We were pretty proud! It was so cool to be at the top. The last .5 mile you are on about a 5 ft wide trail with 1200 ft drop offs on both sides of you. Basically you are rock climbing with a chain to make sure you don't fall. It was pretty freakin awesome!
View from the top!
Weeping rock. We did this after Angel's Landing. At the end of the trail are these rocks on the side of the mountain that drip water. It was pretty cool! It felt nice too!

Super 8 where we stayed!
One last picture from the top!
This really cool rock you could climb inside! I love my husband...he's like a little kid!
The trip to Tahoe was AWESOME too! We stayed in these really nice condos right on the lake. We also celebrated my birthday while we were there. Here are some pictures!
Us on the water trike we rented! Those things are more work then they are play!
The view of Lake Tahoe from our condo!
Dinner at the Casino...Don't worry we didn't gamble! My dad wanted to...
Us at the condo!
All in all it was a great summer! The weather is getting cooler now and I can't believe it's almost fall. Hopefully Shane will be getting some interviews to medical schools in the coming months and I will be getting bigger. To date I have only gained about 3 pounds compared to my pre-pregnancy weight. The doctor said not to worry because it will catch up with me! I can't believe how fast the time goes. I feel like in no time we will be living somewhere else, not knowing anyone. Shane will be in medical school and I will be taking care of our baby. I am trying to live in the moment because time really does fly. Until next time...hopefully sooner than later.
I am nervous just READING about your hike. Goodness I'm a chicken. So excited for you guys and your little bun in the oven. Hope things continue to go well. We will be excited to hear about gender on the 8th. Are you hoping for one or the other? Keep in touch. See you in November.
