Basketball and Baby Madness!

So pretty much our lives have consisted of BYU Basketball (No. 9, by the way) and the baby. We don't even have a baby yet but somehow he is consuming a lot of our time! This past weekend, my awesome friends threw me a baby shower! It was so great! The food was awesome, the people even more awesome! I got some great gifts and we played some great games! Thanks for all those who planned, prepared, and came to the shower! It was fabulous!

35 Weeks, Jan 17th

After the shower, Shane and I headed over to his parents house to work on the quilt for the baby. We quilted the entire thing in about 3 hours total, which was faster than I had expected since we are both first timers. Shane's mom and even dad helped out, which is probably why we finished it faster than expected! Now all we have to do is trim the edges and then sew on the binding. Almost finished, woohoo!

Almost finished product...

A close-up of our handiwork, not bad for first timers eh?

After the baby madness came the basketball madness. We watched the BYU v. CSU game on TV since it was an away game! It got pretty close near the end and we were all so nervous but BYU pulled it out! The next game is on Wednesday against San Diego State. Two top ten teams will be playing at the Marriott Center and don't you worry Shane and I will be the among the first 500 fans! Today they had students lining up to get wristbands. They only gave out 1000 wristbands today and the other 4000 students will have to wait in line even longer tomorrow. But don't worry, Shane and I got in line today in the freezing snow! We received a green wristband which lets us in among the first 500 students tomorrow night! We are so excited for the game! It was mad chaos at the Marriott Center today, I can't even imagine what tomorrow night will be like. So Shane has been trying to talk our baby into coming a couple weeks early so that he is old enough that we can head over to Denver for the March Madness tournament. I have a feeling he won't have any sway over when the baby comes but we will see! So pretty much basketball and baby madness around here! Now I just need to get some pictures of us at the games, since we have been to every home game this season!!! I'll work on it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Shane and I were so excited for Christmas this year! We got to spend Christmas with Shane's family in Lehi and New Year's with our friends Remington and Tamara. We were so glad to both be free from work and Shane from school. I begged and begged Shane to let us get a fake tree to put in our apartment since we would be spending a lot of the holidays at our apartment. He never caved! Said our apartment was too small...But we did have some really awesome friends (Dane and Sara) buy us a 3 foot tree with ornaments, lights, and decorations! It was so sweet of them to do that for us. I was pretty excited! It's on our kitchen table since we have nowhere else to put it...

So we went and saw the Christmas lights on Temple Square this month. December 17th was the 2 year mark for the day we got engaged! I can't believe it has been two years since then! Time really does fly!

Anyway, Shane got a job for BYU and we are so glad because we definitely need the extra money! He also applied to St. George's University in the Carribean for medical school next fall. We should hear back from them any time now. He also applied for Teach for America. That is something we may do if he does not get into medical school this year. Who knows where we will be in August! We hope you all had a great Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
