Oh Baby!

So the pattern we had originally picked out is still "coming soon" on the website. Who knows when it will actually be available. So Shane and I used another pattern to get the creative juices flowing. I picked the pattern and Shane did a lot of redesigning and calculating. Who would have thought that the pythagorean theorem would come in handy for a project like this? Let's just say that anywhere you see a triangle...Shane had to figure those lengths out. Once we chose the pattern, we went to Shane's parents house in Lehi so his mom could help us out! We only worked on it for about 3 hours and had already finished cutting and sewing each of the individual squares. We were surprised at how fast and easy it really was with the help of Shane's mom! Thanks Julie!

This past Saturday, we went back to Lehi and finished sewing all the squares together to finish the front of the quilt. We still need to add the batting, tie it, and then put the binding on. But here are some pictures of the progress so far...

First, we cut and sewed the individual squares

And yes, there was some seam ripping involved...we might have accidentally sewed the bottom to the side of the quilt.

Then we laid out all the pieces
Then we sewed them all together to finish the front side of the quilt!
Oh and for all of you dying to see the baby belly, I guess I will post a couple pictures! These were taken just yesterday at 29 weeks! I can't believe that we are only 2 & 1/2 months away!
