Done and Done

Now you've been updated.

MCAT versus Student Teaching

Shane has been studying like crazy for the MCAT. He is taking it on May 21st and boy is he working hard! Right this very minute he is up on campus taking a full on practice MCAT. It started at 9AM and goes until 2:30PM. He studies for the MCAT more than his classes. Which is probably the smart thing to do since his prep course cost us more than tuition! He has a stack of notecards that he carries with him everywhere! What a nerd! But really I hope this practice test goes well for him so that he can feel confident in the rest of his preparation.

While Shane does that I am planning lessons (with a little bit of blogging in between). I finished student teaching at Grovecrest Elementary at the end of February. It was really hard to leave those kids. They were such a great class! I miss them so much already! But there was an upside to this halfway point - I turned in my teacher work sample on February 25th and I am done with BYU assignments FOREVER! It felt good to get that 40 page report out of my hands! I started at Forbes Elementary in a 3rd grade class. It has been two weeks already and I am still getting used to the switch. I have much longer hours at this school than the last.

But the semester is coming to a close very quickly! It is creeping up on both Shane and I so fast! We are excited for the semester to finish! Now I'm just trying to find a teaching position for next school year, which is nearly impossible. Oh well, it will all work out. It always does. Here are some pictures of my last class I student taught. They are so goofy. I love them!

A Little Bit of Catch Up

Wow! I have fallen so far behind on this whole blog thing. It's to the point where I am so far behind that I don't even want to catch up because it would take forever to recap the last FOUR months! But I will try to do it in the most concise way possible.

Christmas was great! I tried to take more pictures this year since it was our first Christmas together. So we have some of Christmas morning and some playing with nieces and nephews. We also have a few from New Year's as well! Boy was that a happenin party...Anyway, here are a few:

Now on to Valentine's Day. My brother David came from BYU-I to visit us over the long weekend. It was pretty fun! We went to a high school basketball game, a BYU basketball game, out to eat at IHOP one night and then to Winger's for lunch before he headed back. I only took a couple of pictures of when he was here. And they aren't exciting in any way. But here they are:

On Sunday (Valentine's Day), David went with my cousins to eat dinner and Shane planned a romantic dinner at our apartment. Before church Shane came into the bedroom and had this smurk on his face. Then he pulled out from behind his back a beautiful bouquet of daisies. I had no idea! I didn't think he got flowers because there is nowhere to hide them in our apartment. But sure enough he found a place. Shane was so sweet he made us chicken fajitas even though he doesn't like them but he knows that I love them! We also had a little bit of the bubbly...aka sparkling cider! After dinner he gave me a box of chocolates. It was so cute! I am so lame because all I did was tape a bunch of candy hearts together in the shape of a big heart with an "I love you" heart in the middle. Wow I'm lame! Anyway, then we spent time together and watched like three movies together just all cuddled up on the couch. It was a great day! He is so sweet! Here are some pictures:
